MyMoney Free App Reviews

10 Customer Reviews:

At the beginning I was please of what I found and almost ready to buy the full version to replace iCompta who give to much information for an 13 inches computer. My Money offer just enough on each entrie…but… But don’t make any mistake. 1- I din’t find yet how make change in memo line…you can’t correct anything you want, but after confirm it, it come back like it was. Be careful. 2- Some time when you make a change or many at a transaction, but not for the amount, surprise My Money do it for you and change it itself. So it’s enough for me to change my mind. I am a french user, and this app offer few languages and french also, but… I don’t know were the french translater Odette Deverieux learn is french, but it is horrible and many times simply not understandable.

I used Microsoft money for years, yet I changed to a mac and wanted something similar. This is almost there. However the reconcile button does not work. the ending balance defalts to your total balance on the registrar which is fine if that is the accurate number. If you entered more entries, then it won’t work! therefore until they fix this, I don’t recommend it

Crashed

Had great hopes for this program-liked the layout..but crashed in the first few minutes. Glad I did not spend time inputting data...

Just tried this as it seemed to have some nice investments features. i downloaded data from AMEX and noticed that a gas station had paid me back money… strange I thought and looked at my AMEX online statement… couldnt find the transaction under the date, looked closer and found a transaction on another date from CVS with the exact amount. If these simple steps can go wrong, how about more complext transactions and reconciliations….

Freezes

It could be a great app, but every time you try and edit an entry, the app freezes and you need to restart it.

I read other people’s reviews and do not know what they are talking about. For a free app, it is quite good. There are some things that it cannot do, but what do you expect for free. It takes care of all the main functions, and it allows me to keep track of my money, when I have bills that need to be paid, etc. Still haven’t fully worked out the reconcile function, but I enter it manually, and it has been working now for a year.

I just installed this on my MacBoo Pro ver. 10.10.3. it opened but after a few clicks it went to neverland. I had to use the Activity Monitor to kill the app. REMOVED, done

I’ve been a Microsoft Money user for 10+ years. When I switched to a Mac, I had to load Parallels Desktop in order to run Microsoft Money. Due to the strain on system resources when running PD, and the headache of opening another operating system just for banking, I have tried this software. I was able to export my transaction from Microsoft Money, and import them into MyMoney for the most part problem free. I had some trouble with missing transactions. The problem was I had transfer type transactions accross 6+ accounts listed in Microsoft Money, and myMoney (the free version) only allows 4. If you have less than 4 accounts in Microsoft Money, then the free version will be just fine. I would not recommend downloading transactions from your bank. It works, but doesn’t quite come out right. If you are looking for a free app to replace Microsoft Money, then this is the right app. Now we’ll see if the reconcilation process is as good as Microsoft Money.

I tried this app because I saw a past review about it being a good alternative to MS Money. I didn’t find that to be the case. I wasn’t a fan of the interface. Also, the forecasting graph shown in the picture did not appear to be available in the app,…perhaps it was an add-on. I gave up on this app pretty quickly and moved on to find a better and easier to use alternative.
